One month old!

Hi, from Hannah!

Time sure flies when you're a baby. Seems like just yesterday I made my way into this world ... now I'm already one month old!

Mommy thought it'd be fun to dress me up and take my picture like a paparazzi. Here is my favorite of the bunch:

At one month old, here are just a few of the fun things I know how to do:
Giggle
Chatter to myself
Swing my arms in a boxing motion when you bring your face near mine
Mimic an "ooohh" sound
Roll to side (although I'm still working on this)
Kick my legs whenever I hear music
Wake up from a deep sleep the second I get put in my bassinet

I really like:
Crinkling noises (like plastic bags rattling, tissue paper wrinkling or the crinkling ears on my favorite pink poodle)
My bottle -- immediately when I wake up from a snooze
Music of all kinds
Rocking in my chair
Swinging in my swing
Sleeping on Mommy and Daddy's chest
Sucking on my 2 middle fingers

I really dislike:
Wet diapers
Being cold
Taking a bath
Getting my clothes changed
When Mommy and Daddy put mittens on my hands and I can't get to my fingers
Getting too many pictures taken ... see below!

Sorry I've been so quiet over the past couple weeks ... I've been spending a lot of time with my grandparents! They each came for a week to spend time with me ... and I loved it!

A party for me!

On Saturday, Mommy and Grandma Joanne put me in my prettiest dress and took me to a party!

They called it a shower, but I'm not sure why because they left my bathtub at home.

All I know is that lots of Mommy and Daddy's friends came and brought me all sorts of things I need to look pretty and grow up big and strong!

Grandma Joanne painted this tree and all the guests put a thumbprint on it. We're going to
 hang this in my room.  My favorite part is that she put our dog Caesar on it!

Bath night!

Hi, from Hannah!

I'm such a happy girl ... till it's bath time!

(Mom and Dad will figure out some day that I like being clean ... I just HATE being cold!)

Until then, they have to team up to make sure bath time goes quickly. Mom does the washing ... Dad does the distracting!

Uh, oh ... I think they're about to give me a bath again!

Dad tried to distract me with my owl puppet. (He didn't fool me!)

All clean with my Mommy! 

And if the bath wasn't enough ruckus for one night, Mom made Daddy trim my fingernails so I wouldn't scratch my face anymore.

Daddy says, "Is this how I do this?"

All that fuss really tuckered me out, so I talked Daddy into rocking me to sleep.

Nana and Papa's visit!

Hi, from Hannah!

Sorry I've been so quiet this week ... I've been spending lots of time snuggling with these two ...

My Nana and Papa Hesterberg! They came all the way from Colorado to meet me. I have been learning so many songs from Nana. She has the magic touch that puts me to sleep every time. And Papa's chest is one of my favorite places to cuddle up and take a nap.

Just a swingin'!

I'm a pretty content baby, but sometimes Mom and Dad say I still get a little fussy.

Fortunately, they found something that always cheers me up right away ...

It is the same swing my cousins Matthias and Kaylee used and I just love it!

It plays lots of fun music, and as soon as I'm strapped in and feel the swaying, I start to smile! Here are a few pictures of me swinging this week.

Sometimes, swinging makes me very sleepy, like in the photo above!

Very special visitors!

Hi, from Hannah!

On Sunday, Mom and Dad woke up early and gave me a bath and dressed me in a brand-new outfit. They said there were some very special visitors coming over to see me ... my birth mom and dad!

They came over and fed me a bottle and got to hear all the fun squeaks I make when I eat. Then we all had lunch together and shared a lot of laughs. I can tell this was the start of a beautiful friendship!

When birth mom held me, I just snuggled right up in her arms ... I remembered her heartbeat! And I kept staring at birth dad's eyes ... they look just like mine!

I was so content when they were holding me, I fell right asleep and didn't wake up for most of their visit. I hope they come back again to see me real soon!

It's funny all the things Mom and Dad have in common with my birth mom and dad ...

• Mom and birth mom both wear size 12 shoes. (Remember how big my feet are? Good thing they are already scoping out where to buy cute shoes for me! )

• Mom and birth mom both love chocolate and caramel desserts. (And both dads like fruity better!)

• Dad and birth mom both have to sleep with a little noise, and Mom and birth dad like it really quiet.

• And they all love pizza, so they are going to take me out for pizza together sometime soon! =)

So big!

Hi, from Hannah!

I had a big week last week!

Mom took me to the doctor on the coldest day of the year so far. She made sure I was all warm and toasty, but the wind was still so cold and blew my blankets right off my carseat!

I saw Dr. Studer this time and she was so happy to see that I had grown so much! I was 8 lbs., 3.5 oz and 21" long. That is exactly one pound heavier than when I went in for my last check up and 1/4" longer. Everyone says I am changing so quickly. What do you think?

Mom and Dad say I am a very happy baby. I only get fussy if I am tired, hungry or need my diaper changed. They are doing their best to make sure I am warm and cozy all the time!

I was really happy to have my Aunt Stacie come and see me on Thursday and then she came back Friday night with Uncle Erv, Cousin Matthias and Cousin Kaylee. They have been sick, so they had only seen me over Skype because they decided it would be better to wait to see me until they were healthy. (Thank you!)

Cousin Matthias has the magic touch and I just kept staring at him the whole time he was holding me. Maybe I was watching my reflection in his glasses? I hope he comes over and plays with me more often!

Cousin Kaylee was the first to hold me and she told me all about the songs she is going to sing to me like "Hush Little Baby". Maybe she should teach Mom and Dad those songs now so they can try them out after my 3 a.m. feedings!
